Meet The Author
Kim Ryan is the author and illustrator of the Elvina Wispwhistle series, a middle grade fantasy about a curious tooth fairy whose questions lead her into unexpected adventures across the realms. As Elvina works to set things right, she discovers that curiosity and connection can shape the world in ways we don't always see.
Kim is also a classically trained mezzo-soprano, and her background in music and visual storytelling influences the way she builds her stories. After more than twenty-five years working in corporate marketing in New York, she now combines storytelling and illustration to create whimsical fantasy adventures for young readers.
She also co-authored and illustrated the Annibella series with her son, Landon — Annibella's Wondrous Winter Wish, Annibella's New Friend and Annibella and the Red Wolf Rescue — three books about an African elephant living at the Central Park Zoo. The Elvina Wispwhistle stories began with the tooth fairy adventures they created together.
